 I made this little "baby's first script" powershell script with the help of a friend who is choosing to remain uncredited. We made this because I lost over 50 hours of progress in my first playthrough of NieR: Replicant due to a random save corruption.
 
 All user data, including the three save files, graphics settings, etc. are all stored in this one little file called GAMEDATA which has no file extension and is approximately 289 KB in size. The location of which is displayed below:

 The game does not have any contingency for when this file becomes corrupted, and the game has a bug in it which can randomly corrupt the file for no apparent reason. I have yet to determine what causes this. The second time this happened to me, my script thankfully saved me from losing all of my progress again. Not even steam cloud can save you from this, because by the time you've noticed the corruption, they already backed up your corrupted data to the bunker. (╥﹏╥)
 
 I don't understand why they don't rotate out files to protect against corruption (or... you know fix the save corruption problem). Even GameBoy Advance game cartridges do this!

 To use this file, simply replace the source and destination file paths with your GAMEDATA location and the location you wish to have the backups located respectively. This script will append a timestamp to the file name so that you may store multiple backups. Example: "GAMEDATA_2025-10-19_03-37-50"
 
 To restore a backup, you will need to manually rename the backup back to GAMEDATA and replace the one your game attempts to load in the aforementioned filepath above.
 
 Essentially the best way to use this program is to simply run the script every few times you save so that if your game save corrupts, you have a backup to restore from.
 
 Just know that if you backup a corrupted file, you'll have to go more than one backup back to get to a non-corrupted file. Also if you manipulate your computer's time for the purpose of cultivating flowers, I recommend relocating those saves into another folder, as the timestamps will be incorrect.

 I apologize that this script isn't very advanced and requires users to edit the paths located within for it to work. While it is very simple, I learned a lot from making it and wanted to share it so that others may avoid the grief I dealt with.
 
 I understand that this is not the most user-friendly solution, but my belief is that if you reduce the work required to backup your files, you are more likely to have recent backups.  Do you need Special K - This mod is compatible with specialk, and implements two features (fps unlock and device input fix), so if thats all you want SpecialK for then it may not be necessary. Arachnophobia Mode

Replaces spiders and scorpions with small shades

1: Install LunarTear (at least 1.1.2 required)
 2: Put the FastTravel folder in LunarTear/mods/
 3: Start the game once to generate the config file, then in that config file (LunarTear/LunarTear.ini) enable plugins

 When active (see below), a "compass" item will appear in your consumables inventory. Use it to open a fast travel menu.

 Allows fast travel at any point in the game. No safeguards. You will almost immediately break your story progression.
 
 [size=4]Balanced mode[/size]
 
 Only allows fast travel to certain locations, and only in route B, C and D. Contains some custom safeguards and logic to repair game state when travelling to places the game does not expect. [color=#ff0000]This mode is incomplete. I spent many hours fixing it and it likely take many many more as i would need to reverse engineer a lot of quest logic and game flags to manually patch scenarios where you travel in ways the game does not expect. Completing a whole playthrough is [i]possible[/i], i did it once, but there is also a high chance you will break your save, i had that happen to me many times, therefore i don't recommend this in the slightest.[/color]

Fast Travel

Adds a fast travel function. Not suitable for a real playthrough.

 In the config file, for both Kaine and Emil you can choose:
 
 0 = off, mod has no effect
 1 = only spawns them when the story makes sense
 2 = always place them, regardless of the story. (This will make them spawn everywhere)
 
 Like with all script mods i highly recommend a save backup before using. iv had no issues with setting 1, but i have not completed a full playthrough with it on yet. If it does break the game, i severely doubt it will be like my fast travel mod where using it once will break the game 5 hours later. id bet that the worse case scenario is you may have to temporarily disable the mod. Please let me know if you encounter any issues

Always spawn companions

Allows Kaine and Emil to spawn inside villages. Alternatively, configure it to spawn them always, even when not unlocked in the story.

Nier Replicant has always had terrible difficulty scaling. The hard mode just makes enemies bullet sponges which doesn't actually make it harder, it just makes it take longer to beat. For me, the big 3 problems are:

 Start the game from the SpecialK launcher once to create the game profile. go to [font=Courier New]SpecialKFolder/Profiles/NieR Replicant ver122474487139/[/font]. Open [font=Courier New]SpecialK.ini[/font] and append this to the end of that file:

To use the mod, launch from that exe. You can add it to steam by using the [font=Courier New]Add a game -&gt; Add a Non Steam Game[/font] feature.

 [*]Before meeting Weiss, the MP bar is not displayed. MP is still tracked, however this can make it difficult to see when you are able to use an item. These sections are short and easy so I don't see this as a huge problem.
